I just finished rewiring an Epiphone SG for a friend of mine.
I replaced the pickups, wiring, pots & capacitors.
The only original parts left inside it were the switch (3-way) & the ground wire from the bridge.
I followed the Seymour Duncan wiring diagram.

The switch seems to be wired correctly but when it's in the middle position the 2 volume pots don't act independently.
If the both volume pots are at 10 & I turn either one of them down, the volume of both pickups is lowered.
As it turns out, my friend thinks this set up will actually suit him better cos if it's in the middle position he won't have to turn down both knobs in order to cut the sound.
However, it wasn't my intention to wire it this way so, for my own knowledge, I'd just like to know why this is happening.
