  • scm wiring problems

    Hi,
I have installed scn pickups in my strat and have wired it correctly as far as I can tell. The problem is that the tone pots are not working. The volume works fine but no tone change. Anybody got any ideas about what's going on? Could it be a bad capacitor? I did install a treble bleed capacitor. Think this could be the problem?
Any haelp will be mucho appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Bobbio

    Schematic ?
A treble bleed is often the case, from signal path, a small value cap lets HF's into a pot which varies how much of that gets shunted to ground.
    Ground connection.
Pot 250k .. 500k ? can be tested to provide variable resistance, probably works.
Cap...probably works, and could inject [HF only] click or audio into signal path to output [if high enough resistance to ground.], or be replaced. Probably not bad cap though, probably in one of the connections, which can be traced through [except the cap] with DMM, in various modes.
