What I have done for the standard tone control is:
-take it apart and with a dremel disk, sand down the middle area of a 250K linear, b, taper pot. Flush with isopropyl and then contact cleaner; reassemble.
-This will make the middle area open and bypass any highs disapperance/loading.
-hang on either side, different treble bleed caps JAZZ<--->SANTANA; middle goes to ground.
-Now each side has about 100K of dial so there is some sweep/range to hear.
The "click" is very quiet.
I put the tone knob on so as the space between 1 and 10 is "bypass".
Now if only I could create an indent in there. Perhaps I should've changed the dremel bit to make a deeper knotch...
