i bought this guitar for $25 bucks but i could tell right away that it is quite old. the headstock is very similar to a harmony one, but i cannot find any harmony guitars anywhere online that look like it. it has three switches, not knobs, on the face one switch says mic 1 2nd switch says mic 2 and 3rd switch says r-> with <-s underneath. it has a 2 and 5/8 inch bridge nut spacing, but it has no bridge. it appears to be a tune-o-matic bridge but i bought a standard spaced one but it is too wide. i will post a link for pictures of it as soon as i get them. but if anyone has any idea about what kind of guitar it is or where i can get the bridge i would appreciate it.

It's definately not a Harmony. It's a Japanese guitar from the 1960s and I believe it was made by Teisco. This guitar, although branded as an Ayer, was actually made by Teisco. Same control setup and chrome, same body and neck style and same pickups, just more of them. Also, maybe a different trem and bridge. It would really help to see a better picture your tail piece or trem. I can't make it out in your picture.

Here's a Teisco SS4L. Different in some respects, but you can see a lot the similarities. This may be what your original bridge looked like.

Anyway, I think it can be safely said that it is a Teisco made guitar. If I run across that exact model, I'll post it.
Edit- Found it! I forgot I had this site bookmarked. It appears to be a Teisco VN-2. Click on "ID Parade" in the menu, then Solid body, 2 Pickups. Top row, last one on the right.

awesome, thanks! and yeah, it appears to be a vn-2. same tremolo and everything. do you have any idea though how much it is worth today? its in average-used condition. also do you have any idea where i could get a bridge for it? cuz i just cut up butter knife, took the handle half, drilled holes in it, and used that. i mean it works, but aint the prettiest thing created. lol.

Hard to tell from the pictures of the guitar, but this looks like it actually may be the bridge part for that guitar. If it is,it would be a rare find. Check it out.

As far as value, I really couldn't say. What you can do is go to this site, register and post your pictures and ask on the "What is My Guitar Worth?" part of the forum.
