Hello. I have a few questions that I'd like to share, but my search for the answers online didnt end with satisfactory results. Thought I'd ask actual people, than read the same recycled artcicles a few times over.
#1.
I am planning to swap out an old 'bucker to something with a far better performance, such as Steve's Special by DiMarzio. While on DiMarzio's site, I came across a a paragraph that briefly mentioned a Series/Split/Parallel wiring using a DPDT switch. I made a mockup of what my setup would look like after the job, and would like to ask you if the wiring is properly laid out for the Series/Single Coil (North)/Parallel mod. Seems logically correct to me, but I just want to be sure.
#2.
In regards to the wiring question, I was digging through my guitar wires making notes of which goes where, and I couldn't really find the wire that grounds the bridge. There were two "mysterious" wires heading from each of the pickup cavities' direction but those seemed like the South-Start wires (North-Start, North-Finish, South-Finish and the bare are all housed in one sleeve, leaving the last of the four conductor wires on it's own). Presumably, and I'm not saying that it is that way, but say, if you left the bridge ungrounded, you're not producing a shock hazard, are you? I've only come across the hum produced to poor shielding, which is reduced when your hand touches the strings, from my searches online, but apart from the hum, would an ungrounded bridge endanger you in any way?
Cheers!
