Some info about spring adjustment here:https://www.offsetguitars.com/forums...c.php?t=108813

A quick search revealed that the Mustang trem springs are a bit shorter and the ends are shaped differently from strat springs. They seem to be readily available though I couldn't vouch for quality. The metallurgy for such parts can be important if you want them to actually work for a while. I didn't see any "genuine" Fender parts available.

I had a Mustang in 1970 and I'm trying to remember.
Could you post a pic of the bottom side of the plate?

Mustang/Jaguar tremolo springs
I have an old Mustang/Jaguar tremolo I'd like to put to use. This is distinct from the more contemporary "Mastery" tremolo, and has the arm mounted directed into the bar/string anchor, as in the pic below. What I don't have are the springs for it. Any idea where I might be able to score some?
Or do they use standard-length Strat-tremolo spirings, which only look too long because I don't have the unit mounted in anything to provide the appropriate sort of tension?
