A word of caution

Remember those magic magnets that guy sent out to people here and all the hub bub about how great they were etc... I hope no one got any and used them in a customers pickup. I had 2 of those things, 1 long and 1 short, I had them in some test humbuckers here and they had been sitting around idle on a table since then, nothing near them at all, just sitting there, heck 1 pickup was actually sitting on a shelf and the other was actually on the table, well I thought i'd re-visit this magnet just to test out a new wind etc... wound up a new hummer and it sounded like ass, very thin, very low output, single coil like, I thought this was very odd, pulled the PU, checked the wiring etc... HA! The dam magnet was completely demagnatized on 1 side, i'm talking would not even hold a small bobbin screw. So what about those great magnets there dude??

I trashed both of them so i would never use it again, BTW the other one was the exact same way.....

Yep, I mentioned this back then, mine just about completely died in a very short time. There is probably a good reason his magnet rep told them not to mess with the formula :-) Now we know. I've heard stories that when the Chinese first started making alnico maybe 8 years ago or so that this kind of thing was common, I remember Lollar warning me about it.....

I bought two long and 2 short magnets from him.
Both are still hanging on the workbench.The whole thread and his behave made me sick and so I did not want to use those magnets.
I will check them today and see how they are doing!

Wow...Thats weird. I have both his short and long style and have had them on the fridge,in and out of pickups, stuck with other magnets. Etc. multiple times and and they still read the same fully charged dude...I've tried to damage these more than once and NOTHING!! The reason I've had them hear and there is also to observe the magnets surface as well which has stood up with no rust on the ground poles either....
I have never had a problem with his magnets that Kevin T sent me. The only problem I have is not knowing what they are exactly- Thats Dangerous..
Also upon inspection, reading the north and south poles are super close as well reading at nearly the exact gauss levels also.

He didn't send everyone the same magnets. The ones he sent me were ones he'd pestered Tim Mills for. These were from the very same batch I'd been using for years.
that's why he got so pissed off when I called him out on it. I sent them on to Seikbacon. I would imagine they were good but I do know that not everyone got the same magnets.

The ones I have I recieved from Kevin T here. They seem really nice. I could care less really, just stating facts of the 2 magnets I recieved. Why would one send different batches, etc who knows the motif or reason behind that??/

You may have had the same as I did. Thing is Wade, what other people have said about the magnets they got just didn't sound like the ones I or you had.
I gave up on the guy in the end. I knew he was lying about some things so I was never going to buy his mystical magnets. When someone lies like he did, that's when to wonder what the motive is.
