  • u pros suggestions on pickup cover material

Hello all and a Merry Christmas. I am a weekend warrior luthier and have toyed with the idea of attempting to make my own pickups. Although Im more inclined to leave that to the practioners of the "black art". The company I work for as my day job has a large machine shop and production facility. I spoke with the lead machinist guru this morning and I will be making some custom pickup covers . We have a 40 ton punch press and all equipment to easily produce the covers. I love the old Dearmond covers and was going to come up with something similiar in a mini humbucker cover. I welcome your suggestions for the optimum material and other ideas you may have for this project. Im thinking german nickel silver but again I am open for suggestions. I will be posting pics after the covers have been made. (the guy helping me is a punch and tool and die specialist) so very handy for producing custom parts here for my humble shop. Thanks in advance for any ideas and advice!! I notice from some of the posts here that some of you may like to have something similiar on hand for your own uses. Im not sure that I will be producing enough to make them feasible as far as competing with the chinese stuff that is available now. But its always worth discussing the pros and cons,,
