Is that Mick Jones? The Clash was a great band. It's a shame that Strummer passed away.

It is. great player and still going. Lost a bit of hair over the years.
I liked the Clash better than any of the others and yeah it's sad Joe Strummer's gone. He was a clever guy.

Yeah, B.A.D. was interesting but I liked the Clash a lot more.

He played that cool Bond Electraglide guitar in BAD though. I wanted one of those at the time. It had a really weird fretboard.

Well im back in the hotel, and its internet connection sucks. I'll have to upload images when I get home on sunday.

So far I took pictures of Seymour Duncan, Bill Lawrence Pickups, Suhr Guitars, Schecter, a few chinese pickup makers, and a picture of the ugliest humbucker bobbins I've ever seen. Most of the booths are empty because I went before the show opened this morning.

The Schecter Girls were the hottest at the show....

I have to agree with David and Spence - The Clash! But I do like Joe Strummer (R.I.P.) and the Mescaleros.

I've played one. Nearly went for it but it's just a little too much of a gimmick for me. He's back on the juniors now and Deluxe Teles with his new band Carbon Silicon

                      Bond electroglide

those things came out of Scotland and Iv'e had 2 in over the years (didn't make many) and despite carbon fibre they still wore out. Converted them to standard fingerboards along with a few Ovation Matrix guitars which wore out even quicker.

Where the hell is Belwar and his damned namm photos?

                        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bond_Electraglide

I could never keep Mick Jones, Brian Jones and Mick Taylor straight in my head. I actually met Mick Taylor (guitar on Monkey Man) and called him Mick Jones to his face. He took it well, I guess it could have been worse.

Lane Poor made a bunch of headless basses with those stepped ceramic fingerboards before he got going on the pickups. I'd like to find one of those some day, they were ugly as sin.

He probably got too close to one of the girls and she broke the camera when trying to shove it up his ass.

They really were. It was nice to see something different, but I never liked the way they looked.

There are a lot of really ugly "boutique" basses out there.

I got home sunday, but my kids wanted my attention. Thats got to come before the forum. I'll unload my camera tonight and upload pictures - Dont get your hopes up there isnt anything too special!

Speaking of girls, I had a bizarre namm experience this year.. Saturday the show closes (at 6:00pm) and this hippy dippy girl walks up to me and says "Im in love with your gold top, I must have one". Ok pretty cool I thought. She looks at my name tag and says "your names matthew? Do you know what your name is in sweedish? It's Mattias .. Thats such a sexy name .. such a sexy name" .. Being a happily married man im actually kinda creeped out.. I sputter out to her "Im glad you like the gold top, you'll have to buy one!" and she says to me "I wont buy one, but i'll make love to one..." Then she brushes by me and strolls away .. what just happened? My pickups really ARE magic..
