Does the film appear to have been from a water-based paint, or solvent-based? Is the film discolored?

Don't forget that AlNiCo magnets contain nickel. Cobalt, and Chromium dioxide are also ferromagnetic.
Ferritic stainless steel has chromium in it.It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
