  • Alnico 5 Grades

    Hi Everyone,

I haven't found a discussion on the different grades of Alnico 5 That are available.

The grades that I always see are: or see this chart for more specs
    LNG34 Alnico 5C
    LNG37 Alnico 5C
    LNG40 Alnico 5
    LNG44 Alnico 5
    LNG52 Alnico 5DG

Does anyone have experience with any of these grades that they could share? The Alnico 5C (LNG34 and LNG37) is the weakest. The LNG44 seems to be the specs that most people use as standard "alnico 5". I am also wondering which of these types you get when you order some plain old "alnico 5" from your favorite magnet supplier? I have yet to see a chart that breaks down the composition of these various magnet types. That would give clues as to what is going on with these different grades.

Too many choices ....I wish I hadn't seen that there were so many options for alnico 5.

I've been doing a little searching and I haven't been able to find any specs on Alnico 4. I'm wondering if the LNG34-37 Alnico 5C is just being called Alnico 4.

Edit: I really should learn how to read. The Alnico 4 is right above the A5. I guess I've just been finding the companies that don't deal in A4.
