When saying "spacer" do you reffer to the steel keeper bar or maybe the Dimarzio plastic holder thingy from the Air series of pickups?

I do reckon that it pretty much already does what you are looking for. Perhpas a wider magnet with holes for the adjustable coil, so you can skip the spacer and have the magnet act like the spacer, but I am not sure of the soundness of this idea, nor the logistics....
