correct hookup for P-bass pickups?

I got a set of P-Bass pickups to rewind, but none of the hook-up wires are with them. Are the two pickups connected start to finish? Also, are they traditionally opposite polarity?

This wire schematic at Duncan shows them wired finish to finish (or start to start), like a humbucker.

The magnets are opposite, the coils are both wound in the same direction.
