For me, I have a day job so I'm gone for about 12 hours out of the day...this is including sitting in Washington DC traffic.

When I get home I play with my 2-year-old son before he goes to bed. After he's down, I mosey down to my shop and start winding and packing orders until midnight or 1am...2am or later on the weekends. Then I start all over again the next morning.

As others have mentioned....there is not enough time in the day..and don't forget that you have to make time for family stuff, house chores, guitar playing time and some down time for yourself so you don't go insane in the process....Thank god for my wife who takes the packages to the post office which might not seem like a big deal...but it is when you don't have the time to do yourself.

I plan on doing videos soon and will post some along with new sound clips for my website. ...it's just finding the time just like what other folks have stated.

      fear, pure and simple...

I'm afraid I'll be ridiculed for my amazing gall at posting my pickups. Not really.

I bought a firewire digitizer to record to garage band, but as Possum has said someother place, DI to your Mac doesn't really sound like an amp. It's keen for doing really anal sound comparison though, just not very interesting as a demo.

I need an amp cord and a shure 57 to get a better recording, but no coin is forthcoming. I also am busy, with a three year old, and five month old, a stained glass business teetering on the brink of destruction and all the other fun things life offers. I'm sure it's that way for most of us.

      Peace

Norcal, Don't let it get you down man. The reality is this medium is far too impersonal, and some folks make no effort at re-reading their stuff to see if they are coming across as pricks. Read everything Possum and Schwab post, thank Jason Lollar on a regular basis (I wouldn't be here if not for his pioneering) and throw the rest over your left shoulder.....

Thanks Redhouse. Well, my website really needs to be done over again, it was designed when everyone was browsing on 640x480 monitors. I plan on redesigning it before the end of the year. A little more upscale looking hopefully.

Yeah, when I was working for Shrapnel I was doing pickups too and some of my wait times hit 8 months! Doing both jobs was really stressing me out too, who needs it. Even now I tend to work until I'm about to drop and have trouble taking days off. And of course what do I do on my days off? Experiment with pickups or relic techniques, can't get away from it all :-)

Maybe you should offer web services to folks here?

I'd think that most of the attributes that make you guys good pickup makers would make you among the worst customers imaginable.

Jason I missed your post about trying to post in the Showcase? The system is supposed to notify me of new postings and I'm supposed to approve it and check that there's no more than 3 entries, Strangelove is the other administrator for the Showcase and I guess he didn't get it either. Maybe the last server crashed messed things up.....

For a few strange moments, I didn't recognise you when I drove into your driveway a few weeks ago, but...

BTW, the haircut serves you well.
(probably an easy thing to blow-off comming from a baldeee like me)

Yes! you are passionate about your craft, I had a lot of questions I wanted to ask you that day, but I had promised myself to behave and let the conversation go where it went, as it did, the group-buy gauss meter event went very well, and your help was very much appreciated, thanks from all the folks.

Also, your's is a good style, not much reminicent of stonage of any hour

BTW; you need some work on your evil laugh, it's more of a "Muahhahahahahahaaha" than a "Hee hee hee heee"

when Jason starts wearing a TIE I'm getting out of this business.
My evil laugh is so scary it can't be spelled, its more like psychotic psychomaniac slash killer type sonics, I only do it when no one's around or it could hurt someone.....

Jason, try posting whatever audio or video clips you have in the Showcase again and then email me that you did so. If I don't get a notification I'll ask TBoy why its not working.
