You should search for "vulcanized fiberboard" instead of Forbon. Forbon is just a name brand and not the actual material. There are tons of suppliers.

Also try searching for the british spelling "vulcanized fibre".

For small lots you could buy up old suitcases and drum cases and cut them up. The drum cases would give you additional vintage vibe if they had been touring for 50 years with a jazz drummer.

Well done Mr King. Thinking outside the box, as there is pleanty of s/h material out there if you look away from guitar related stuff. Who cares about a 50 year old mahogany wardrobe when you got to replace a neck on a 58 LP. plastics, fibreboard and lots of related material sitting out there in junk shops yelling to be converted.

Or thinking outside the drum case as it were.

                  ....

Well Forbon and the others aren't the same thing, Forbon was a proprietary product and is what every Fender pickup used to be made of since the beginning, it looks different and is different.
Its a real shame that its gone. I love the smell of Forbon in the morning.....aaaaaahhhhh.....
