  • Metric steel bar stock in america?

Does anyone have a place to by METRIC square bar stock in America or Canada? I'm starting to look for the 8mm x 8mm I need for the Wal Based pickup im working on.

I just put a quote into Parker Steel in Ohio, but am also looking for other places.

I can buy 8mm keystock from grainger, but that is 1010. In guitar humbuckers I generally like 1018 more so I'm going to work with that.

Why not go with 5/16" square and save yourself a world of trouble?
That's .3125 instead of .315" but either can run up to .008" over or under from the nominal dimension.

You can try Metric Metals - Metric Cold Drawn Squares but the prices may give you a black eye.

I got the right size bar for the keeper from McMaster Carr. It's 5/16, but that's close enough.

Did you want galvanized? You could probably get 20 feet or cold rolled 1018 for less than McMaster Carr sells it from any steel yard in town.
or try one of the usual suspects online.
