  • 43 triple insulated

    i can get some awg 43 triple insulated wire MW-80C fairly cheap would it be any good for pickups. would it be so thick as a 42 gauge wire ? also have anybody used this kind of wire

    It could be pretty bright if that's what you're looking for. Probably diminishing returns past 2 layers but who knows? I wouldn't mind checking it out myself.

    The 80C seems a pretty low temp.


    Never mind, the 80C is part of the NEMA code, not the temperature rating.

      I've found I can fit a few more (maybe 5%) turns of 43 heavy than 42 single on a standard PAF bobbin. If you figure another .0002" for the triple vs heavy, I'd guess you'd fit 5% fewer turns of 43 triple vs 42 single on an equivalent bobbin.

        im wondering how would it sound compard to 42 brighter maybe ? or maybe i should find some 42
