Dont forget
The spacing between the top and bottom flatwork is critical for the original tone. The newer versions are spaced wider than the originals and hence dont sound quite the same, I think the spacing between the top and bottom where the windings go is about only 1/8th an inch, the new ones are almost 1/4 and they sound like a P90 to me, not a true Jazzmaster.
