  • Forbon Supplier

Guys, do you know of any good suppliers for Forbon. I just received an order from StewMac and the damn stuff is warped! Grrr. These guys can't seem to do much right with regard to pickup making supplies. Thanks for the help.

    forebone

you can bend it til to get the warp out of it. I haven't bought forbon in a long time, but mostly you'll have to buy a full sheet of 30x60" I think it is, about $75 a sheet if I remember, probably gone up I bet. But it will last you a loooong time. Lollar's book has a supplier listed I think but its for big sizes only....

Yeah, I bent it back into shape but it just pisses me off that they would even ship it that way. The other thing that sucks about buying this from them is that the dimensions are bad for the thicker flats they sell. If it was like 1.5 - 2" longer on one or both sides not NEARLY as much would go to waste when making flatwork. $75 a sheet is a lot of dough, but that is a bargain compared to what the boys at stewmac are selling it for. 60*30 = 1800 sq in. for $75. 6*6 = 36 sq in. * 50 = 1800 sq. in. = $350 at stewmac!!! Just a little markup they got going on there. </end rant>

forbon will warp in shipping. It might have been flat when they sent it.

I've found that looking up people that make motor gaskets and buying their cutoffs is the cheapest way to get this stuff. I get 6"x6" sheets for about 30p each. When you figure in the free shipping, it's pretty cheap this way.

            suppliers....

            Email the company:

ask them for a supplier closest to you, they do answer emails. I'll look through my receipts and see if I can find the distributor I used and email you later....
