When Clapton used Lace pickups, him and Buddy Guy left me behind, horrible tone, souless treble fuzz. I think they have both gone back to using real single coils again, thank God.

I think they use the fender noiseless now.

Awesome! Thanks for the interview link, so yes thats a Marshall and the one mentioned in the interview. I wonder what power tubes those used. Would like to get some kind of budget version of an amp like that some day...
