A2 Magnets for Jazz Bass Pickups

Anyone have thoughts on this?

I have a maple neck through bass that always seems to be a little bright in the 1 kHz range, thinking maybe A2 would help smooth out the highs as it does for guitar pups...........

I use A2 in Jazz pickups, it works, some folks like it. Does it knock down some of the 1K? You'll have to try it out and see, it sounds different from A5, that's about all I can tell you. It's mellower for sure.

You can also under wind the pickup a bit. That will raise the resonant peak and make the highs sound smoother.
