China Syndrome
A few months ago i bought a Crescent strat-copy guitar for 69$ with the intention of using it as a test bed for my pickups.
I`ve tried a lot of Fenders over the years, looking for that Buddy Holly/Tommy Alsup sound, heard on "Peggy Sue and "Heartbeat", in vain, and there it was, in a cheap Chinese guitar.
So i went on Ebay and picked up a Titan Telecaster for 29$ to replace the Crescent, which is salted away in its case.
I plan to rout out a recess in the back of the Titan to give easy access for my trial pickups, and insert a plastic enclosure to hold them.
Who cares if the headstock of the Crescent resembles Prince Charles left ear, its the sound that counts.
