      The signal loss would be in the high frequencies the Extech can't see. I suppose they're safe for pickups maybe but I just don't trust that. Epiphone wiring harnesses that use the larger connectors have alot of high frequency losses, so do the connectors contribute to that? I don't know. Those connectors are too clunky to fit in a Les Paul I'll say that, if you're doing pickup quick swaps out of the pickup cavity like I do. Epiphone does it because it saves soldering producction time. They also use way too much wire in the harness.

      The little Deans connectors are ideal pickup cavity quick changes for prototype testing. They come in polarized and unpolarized so you can listen to pickups out of phase if you want to.
