It's not #28 but #26, but if you don't mind that, this is a good deal:

I guess Mouser will work but what they have available seems a little expensive.

I used to work at this place below. Their website isn't the best as far as it's look or for buying stuff online, but you can call or email and get what you want. This is where Possum gets his 28 gauge hookup wire unless he's found another source btw. If you have questions or problems about the wire, call and ask to speak to Bill Brown. He's the owner, a niec guy, and he's glad to answer any question and is very knowledgable. Tell him Greg Simon sent you and he'll perk up.

They don't appear to have 28 AWG or black insulation.

I was getting it from Mouser, but now I get it from Jameco.

It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Soundmaster, I went with Bill and mentioned your name. Spool on the way, thanks.

I use their 28 Teflon, didn't realize you needed a particular color.

You're welcome. Bill is a nice guy and knows his stuff, and Squires has good prices and tons of wire of all types. It's my go-to source partly for the reasons above, but also because I live less than a mile away and used to work there and know what they have.
