Seymour Duncan APH-1's Wire Used?..

Hi Gang,

I've looked around to see if I can find some info on
which type of wire Seymour Duncan is using for
their APH-1 and/or Alnico 2 Pro's, but cannot find
any info anywhere.

Does anyone here have an idea of what wire is being
used? Plain Enamel 42? 43?

My guess is 43. I had two of them on my bench a few years ago wondering the same thing. It's definately not 42, when I unwound one of them to check the winding pattern (nothing special there) and re-wound it with 42 it filled the bobbin up noticably more than what Duncan had on there.

43 got the coil looking much more it was at the DCR it was.

I don't think it's 43, since they read 7.6 k neck and 7.85k bridge. 43 would read higher than that, probably around 10K.

By comparison the Seth Lover is 7.2K and 8.1K and the 59 is 7.43 k and 8.13k, and since those are PAF models, they are surely wound with 42.
