  • Bobbin VS Cover

Why is there so many different sizes??

I've used montreux stratbobbins for a while.
Doesn't make many pickups and have been happy with good service from him.
But some of my customers seems to complain that the spacing between the magnets are too small. They want to use the old covers and they don't fit.

Anyone here that know the different spacing from different dealers?
I'm thinking both bobbins and covers..

I'm fairly certain .4125 is the correct center to center measurement on the magnets. It is what I use and have never had issues with anyone's covers. Mojo and Stewmac are spaced at .4125.

Because there is no "standard". These are are probably made to fit certain Strat copies, not the real thing. All these parts are a bi-product of these companies making pickups for Asian guitar manufacturers, they aren't made as after market pickup parts for us builders.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
