  • Best way to store pickups

I have a variety of my own prototype as well as brand name pickups in my collection and was wondering what the best ways are to store them.

Long term storage: vaccum pack them.
I believe that SD and The Reverend Willy G have a humbucker in a jar of water that comes out every 10 years...and it still works.

Anything that's airtight and strong enough to physically protect the pickup from mechanical damage. Not that pickups are all that fragile, but corrosion will be the main issue in storage over decades.

I would use some kind of wide-mouth screw-top jar, with one of those large dessicant bags inside to keep the humidity down at sahara-desert levels.
