  • Pickup parts for foreigners outside of US

    Hi to everybody,

My work with pickups started couple years ago with single-coil pickup that stopped suddenly to make sound. After I spent whole weekend in order to fix it I achieved success! Since then I got few Korean made HB and singles so I was able to study it in order to understand structure. Problem appeared when I thought to order parts from shops specialized for similar things in US as in Europe I couldn't find it. Only StewMac do it, but I need bobbins for rail or blade double-bobbins humbuckers, like DiMarzio X2N or Lawrence L-500. I saw it in two shop but sellers doesn't sell it outside US. Damn, that's just a plastic parts, it's not space technology, or Gibson parts? Even on eBay there is no offer, even to buy some cheap noname PU and rewind it!?
Are there some shops where it's possible to get but in same time available to Europeans? I have read that some factory in Germany sell wire but in this moment I can't be sure what is its name. Thank you for your input.

A number of third-party US companies offer a forwarding service.

Check for instance Shipito, their basic rate is $8.95 per package + postage

All those blade bobbins come from Asia. You can get them from one of these places, but you'll have a minimum order.

Yes, they have some of things I would like to order but prices are pretty high. I'll try to find out maybe some cheaper place, but if fail that's good place. Anyway, thank you for the link.

Shipito is in my humble opinion the story ended. They are blacklisted on many web sites and after you place fund for buying it's hard to recover funds back. Such process is time consumptive, even with PayPal. Probably was good when it worked. Good idea that fails.

                    Hi Ludus
Give Goeldo a call, their prices are enduser prices for people buying in german music shops.
Tell then that you want ab business-account and you will get good prices.

I was in contact with Göldo just a week ago (for other stuff). They offer 10% discount on "most parts exept för Düsenberg stuff". Took qite a wile to get the "dealer account" I need to order from them. The customer couldn't wait for that...

GMF here in Sweden (the "Pickup delar" link) are sometimes a PITA to deal with. They are the Allparts distributor in Sweden, therefore blocking me from ordering directly from Allparts. When asking them to order mini HB parts for me they told me that Allparts had never ever carried mini HB parts (this was before they put them on the "official" list) even thou I could reffer to the Allparts part numbers from an earlier shipment directly from Alparts and even suplying a scanned copy of the invoice...duh! On the other hand, they surpriced me with a very quick and detailed answer on a very odd question just a few days ago, so maybe they are on the right track.

Rockinger are, IIRC, the same company as Göldo (or have more or less the same inventory as Göldo), but open for ordinary people and sometimed have better prices than Göldo, even with the Göldo discount you get for runing a legimit business operation.

gknauer looks interesting, sells Allparts pickup parts, but only availible in german (and my german is quite bad...), not a word about suplying private persons (no problem for me) or shipping outside Germany. I wouldn't use them without recomendations from somebody that have used them succesful...from outside of Germany

Allparts, as said above, if there are a Allparts suplier in your country...forget to order directly from Allparts.

Vox humana only carries pickup covers and rings if I'm not misstaken

Wires.co.uk: Exellent place! I get all my polysol wire from them. Fast and pretty nice priced. At last a suplier that gets my "grumpy old man stamp of aproval"

My appologies Peter but not too good on my northern geography. Mind you the last time I went to the north of England it was shut.
