What's the difference?

What's the difference between P.E, Poly Coated, Heavy Formvar, SPN? What kind of tone, output, ect.

poly & spn are the same(SPN (SINGLE POLY NYLON) is the most common & cheapest. with good sound. nice & clear.sounds a little compressed to me, similar to PE in certain ways .that's what i have heard ,i have never used P.E .it's too expensive & too hard to find . heavy formvar sound fat & vintage

PE is not hard to find at all. MWS Wire sells it in 5-pound spools. It's a bit more expensive than poly but hardly prohibitive. Check them out here:
