P90 Dog Ear Cover Question

Usually, I use covers that have the holes for the poles. However, I have a pair which don't have them. Do I leave them as is, or do I drill holes to match the bobbin?

Drill them but you need to be extremely careful with your alignment.
I make my own Dogear covers but I have a drilling jig to make sure the holes are right.
