  • What Neo Mags to charge A5 bars for buckers? same for rods?

I bought some non magnetized A5 bars from mojotone, along with some single coil kits, and now I have to buy some magnets to charge these things!

I tried a search function but it didnt really answer my question.

can you over charge these things? or is it a once and done?

I have read about 'weakening' magnets.. how do you go about doing that?

    thanks!

We have this discussion a lot so try some other search terms. You can't overcharge alnicos, you saturate them and that happens pretty much instantaneously.
For guitar pickups some folks prefer them less than fully charged so they will demag them in some controlled manner until they sound about right. A ceramic magnet or a smaller neodymium will work to demagnetize as would a tape head demag probe. We usually just tap on them with the stronger magnet and then test the results through an amp or with a Gauss meter.
