Will potting get rid of the noise the strings make when you slide your finger across them on the neck? I am trying a new wind and this seems to be very pronounced, have not fired up the ol potting pot lol so wondering if anyone else has had this issue before?

I think potting makes life a bit quieter.
Must be a high output humbucker run fairly close to the strings.
I hope this potting post stays calmer than the last one.

Actually it is a Single coil. It just has that squeaky thing going on when you slide your hand up and down the neck, like using a bar chord and sliding down to the next chord etc.., I really like the tone I'm getting and don't want to change anything if I can help it.

I haven't made just tons of single coils. Just the ones for my own guitars.
Is it possible that the rod magnets are to hot. too much gauss?
