You mean at the screws? Humbuckers have both poles facing up.

To answer your question... I have no idea!
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Pretty sure the screw poles are south and the slug coils are north.

I'd say at least 90% of pu makers (including Gibson) have the screw coil south so that customers don't have problems mixing different brands and having phasing problems.

Yes, it's easily fixed by flipping one of the magnets but most customers don't have the skill or inclination to bother with magnet flips, especially if the pickup is covered.

Blimey Mick I thought that was for gay guys. What the hell's wrong with WD 40 these days? that's a proper man's lube

Did you know that WD40 was invented in 1953 by The Rocket Chemical Company of San Deigo California although KY was introduced in January 1904 by pharmaceutical and suture maker Van Horn & Sawtell of New York City...hence the expression " Have you got the Horn...? "

            No I'm kiddin' now....

              South at the screws.

              BB1, BB2, and BB3 are AlNiCo 2 and BB-Pros are AlNiCo 5.
