  • Wondering why no one has grabbed this winder yet

I've been watching this winder on ebay for a couple months. I would of thought someone here would of purchased it by now. Seems like a good deal if everything is working properly.

    Did you read the description?

1 1/2" maximum coil diameter. Not good. Sure you could modify it, but for $3,999.00 you could get something more appropriate for guitar pickups.

The price is a bit steep plus it is missing a part. I have seen used ones in better shape go for way less. These do work well for pickups. Fralin uses one.
They don't make them like they used to... We do.

I can think of better uses of $4,000...

Exactly. I can build an army of CNC winders for $4,000! Then I can rule the world! .... Bwah ha ha ha ha (maniacal laughter) ....

Oh, sorry.... I got carried away...

I actually meant delirious, but was too delirious to find the right word.

My headache is gone now. A nice day of using routers fixed that. Usually works in reverse.

I love the smell of saw dust in the afternoon...

I bet you were moshing and headbanging.

Not as exciting... I was bending over to pick up my bass case, which the singer had laid down on the floor.

Waaaaaaaayy over priced. You can get great mechanical winders for $250 bucks these days. I just got another leesona/bachi 115 last week for $250 in working condition. Great winder with 0-500tpl. will do pretty much any size pickup too. Now I just buy them for each of the different pickups I make without having to change over chucks or anything. One for buckers, one for p-90's, one for wal bass coils, etc..

                            Here's a good one for $599 USD

Bachi 115 coil winder 735 counter complete winding - eBay (item 270533897262 end time Sep-16-10 14:37:47 PDT)

While they can be had cheaper, it's a killer winder for that price.

At our age, I think that qualifies as moshing and headbanging.

I've done that a few times too.
