  • RWRP question

I am winding up some single coils for my strat and want to know if RWRP is needed to get a humbucking effect? Will they phase out of I dont do RWRP? a friend told me it doesnt matter, but I see all the big guys like lollar do it.

How would I go about doing this?

    Hello:
Early model strat and teles didn't do RWRP.
Most modern strats do now, including Fender.
Neck, & bridge pickups have south up magnets.
Middle has North up. this is from the top looking down at the pickup.
Neck & bridge would be wound clockwise.
    Middle would be wound counterclockwise.
That is standard factory way of doing it.
Some folks wind them all the same either clockwise or CCW.
You wire neck & middle the same and reverse the wiring on the middle.
You still do the south up on neck and bridge, and north up on middle.
    StewMac has some good instructions.
