Big_Tee and David, why do you think's bad?

And what do you use that's better and why?
The exposed shield can cause shorts, and you can't change the polarity of the pickup. Plus the whole push back and cloth insulation thing is a pain IMO. I want my wires stripped and tined and ready for me to connect to the coils. I use 4-conductor cable.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

I have noticed that if you checking dc resistance of a pickup with the braided wire ,touching the braid in different places can give you quite different readings

Because you aren't getting a good connection, and also the braid might have oxidized somewhat.

With a good digital multimeter you are reading your body into the circuit.
You don't have that problem with the an insulated cable.
If you touch the wires with your hand and the uninsulated braid your body is becoming part of the parallel circuit. Making the meter read less!
I've noticed that mojo has a new 2 wire with ground cable listed.
          That would be ideal.
I've used the 4-wire and cut off the unused leads before, when not wiring out all possibilities!
Much quieter and more Stable IMO.

That's improper technique. Don't touch the wires. Used test clips on your leads.

Yes you are correct, I was just explaining the how it does, and can happen.

I was agreeing with you, even if it didn't look that way.

I knew you did, I was just trying to clarify.
