  • Magnet storage?

I just came into the possession of a few pairs of A 2, 3 , 4 ,5 and 8 which are magnetized. I am gearing up to enter the mysterious world of pickup winding. I was curious about how to properly store them, and if any of you had any recommendations.
Apologies if this topic has been covered before, I did a search and found nothing.

magnets are stored end to end so that N faces South
In other words, stored so they attract each other

If stored N to N or S to S, they run down faster and steadily.
however, it is difficult to store magnets that way, since they spring apart and try to reverse, boing factor.
Magnets are always trying to align N to S so they attract.

Ideally, you would store them away from each other, and all AC sources. But this is impractical for humans.
I store mine in an iron shielding box. This is what you can ship them in, also. This will dissipate a field, and prevent your hard drive from being erased.
Ideally, you store magnets away from hard drives and computers.

Although you can measure, match and test magnets, you can also deplete them with an AC field.
A bulk tape eraser, head demagnetizer, will deplete a magnet.
The art seems to be charge and then partially deplete, to obtain a certain Gauss, for a certain sound.

But I am not suggesting you try that. No, no.

Stick them individually on a metal object, like your fridge. That's how I keep alnico magnets away from other magnets.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Magnetic storage and magnetic recording are terms from engineering referring to the storage of data on a magnetized medium. Magnetic storage uses different patterns of magnetization in a magnetizable material to store data and is a form of non-volatile memory. For reliable storage of data, the recording material needs to resist self-demagnetization, which occurs when the magnetic domains repel each other.
