    I think it would depend on how the player had the pup set up. If it was way up close to the strings, then there might be a bit more wear directly under the "home location" of the string... especially if the player played with fingers and tends to "pop" the strings.

    For me, I tend to play with the neck pups down, so most of my wear is pick scratches between the home location of the strings.

      to age chrome covers....All Chrome covers are nickel plated first. You can remove the chrome by dipping them in muriatic acid for a few minutes. WEAR GLOVES and GOGGLES. Carefully take them out of the muriatic acid and soap and water rinse them well. Then....On the stove, get some white vinager, and bring it to a simmer....suspend the covers over the white vinager steam for about 10-15 minutes....more or less time to vary the amount of "tarnish" Looks fairly authentic, as it tarnishes the Nickel plate.
