    Can aybody tell me what kind wire this is the essex label says 1988 for the year,also has anybody used "glastic" for flatwork.picked up anice piece today and this 2lb.roll of wire for $15.and if someone knows can I wind my pickup with it.fender jazz bass.Also the magnets for my 74 jazz are--.780x.185 where can I get these.Peace

    It says 42 on the upper left hand corner. I don't know if it means gauge#42, if it does, then you can use it. The wire diameter is .063mm if I'm not mistaken. Are there any markings as to the type of insulation?

      I had some like that, it looks like some poly solderon stuff, decent to wind with if you want that kind of tone. Should do good for a bass pickup.

        Thanks for reply,yes it`s 42 H(heavy),but I can`t track the insulation code-which on this label I believe is----"THX/200".Once again thanks if anybody knows let me know please.

          Solderon, double build insulation (H, Assuming). Polyurathane Nylon. That was a good buy dude. This is ideal for bass pickups, welcome to the forum too
