    Super II

I dont Know know David, I had one of the first Super II's to come out right after the super distortion and they both had adjustable allen head pole pieces. Not too sure on this one, maybe looking around the Dimarzio site will get you close. I think they have had about the same lineup forever so it may be there. the key is how it looks and what the resistance reading is. The red wire is sorta strange though??

It almost looks like someone filled the allen heads up with solder then sanded them down???????????

That's how the old DiMarzio allen screws looked. The holes didn't go too far down, and it looked like there was metal in them. They used to say they were calibrated... when I first saw a SDHB I thought they filled the screw holes... now I think it's just the way they were made.

I have a 70's SDHB... I'll take some pictures of it this week so you can see the allen screws.

But the Super II was the only black DiMarzio from back then, and they are still 8.7K. They only had the SDHB, DualSound (which was the SDHB) and Super II back then...and the PAF. We know it's old (no model number), it's black (only the Super II came in black at that time) and it's about 8.7K... So it can't be anything else.

The holes still don't go down too far... this is from the DiMarzio site:

            Hi there
This is what I’ve got from Dimarzio by email:
They look like our K-10 model from around 1974. They are similar to our
Super 2 (DP104) but without adjustable polepieces.

Ah... that's a new one for me! Must have been an OEM model.

Hmm... Those look more like '50S & '60s Fender bass bridge saddles...

                          What 'cha got there is...

A pair of OEM Dimarzios -from an old Hondo guitar most likely. I'd know those lumpy slugs anywhere! Good sounding, too IIRC.
