  • So What Is The "Proper" Way To Store Pickups?

So I've done a bunch of searching and reading and the only answer on the question I could find was 'if not stored properly they can demagnetize.' Although, there's no answer as to what "proper" storage equates to. I was wondering if someone could spell this out cause I've got a bunch of pickups wrapped in about a layer of bubble-wrap each sitting in a box at a friend's place... for a couple months now. Should I be worried? Do I need to call him up and have them moved? If so, how should one store a dozen or so pickups?
    Any advice is much appreciated,
    Chris

bubble wrap won't block the flux fields. I would keep the pickups with stronger magnets away from the pickups with the weaker ones. I would keep pickups with the same type of magnets together which will reduce the chances of the pickup mags degaussing each other.

If one is worried about self demagnetization, sticking the pickup to a mild steel keeper should help. The keeper would be more or less where the strings are when the pickup is in a guitar.

When I ship pickups, I always separate them in the box.
I've done a few rewinds, that all was really wrong with them was weak magnets.
        Customers wanted them rewound anyway.

i was aware the bubblewrap would not mess with flux fields. I mentioned that more as an indicator of proximity. Other than one ceramic, a set of warwick active bass pickups, one A2, and a set of alumitones they should all be A5s if my memory serves me.
