  • Making P-90 Repro Baseplates

I decided to make some 50's repro P-90 baseplates. I'm really happy with how they came out. They have the same raw look of the original I sent to be copied. I think the powdery look of the tin plate would freak some people out but this is actually just what I wanted. The mid 50's baseplate this was copied from had the same look but tarnished. I have some late 60's P-90 baseplates that are shinier but the mid 50's baseplates have this powdery look very often.

I'm not offering the parts for sale. And finding a USA stamper that would do short 1000 piece runs like this at a "reasonable" price took a long time. So please don't ask. But even though having them USA made ended up being a lot more than having them done overseas they still cost less than you might expect. It is worth considering if you have the need for 1000 part runs of similar stuff.

They don't make them like they used to... We do.

      Measure thrice, stamp once.
I'd love to see a photo of any of the tooling they used if you care to share.

I had these stamped by a place out of state and have not seen the die.
