I also read he was having health issues and hope he is good health.

I would feel discombobulated if he wasn't!

(The word ,"discombobulated", is used out of respect for Big Al s improvised vocabulary.)

          Hello Gentlemen (and Ladies).
First post, so excuse me if I have filled this in incorrectly.
I too have tried to register on the LPF and despite several polite mails (on my side, brusque on theirs) with some "person" called "Lily" they refuse to accept that my e-mail address is not a Hotmail/Yahoo type account which they do not accept. My ISP is Talktalk (UK) and it is registered to my home address and I pay for it. This "Lily" person will no longer acknowledge e-mails and as far as I am concerned the LPF can go hang. The administrator is rude, ignorant and intransigent. A moments investigation would see who Talktalk.net are. If this is representative of their attitude then I will just not bother trying to play with their little train set.
Thank you all for a most informative site.

            ...

She is definitely one strange lady, maybe a little therapy might be in order. You have to wonder about someone who keeps a years old list of people she has banned and once you are on it you'll never get in. Obviously she has some emotional problems, I've never heard anyone say something nice about her, just that she's highly disagreeable and arrogant. I was banned five years ago for not reading the full agreement policy and despite my polite apology etc. she never responded to my email and here five years later any attempt to contact them gets no reply. consider yourself banned from that site for your lifetime. I consider it a badge of honor, she has banned a big list of very knowledgeable industry leaders like Ted Weber, one of the nicest guys I've run into. So I guess we're in great company. Censored and controlled societies become really inbred after a time and probably some information might lack merit due to there not being a complete uncensored view of things and few new members.

One word.....Advertising! Contact them and tell them that you're interested in advertising on their site...I bet they would respond then...I got a response within a day and i used my hotmail account....I didn't try registering, however, i bet they would of opened the door if I whipped out a Benjamin or two. I am eventually going to attempt to join....but i have something in the works myself. They have over 30k members so it would be great exposure.

Welcome to the Pickup Makers Forum. Here, you will discover that the (im)moderator is not ignorant.

There is a well-known phenomenon that explains the behaviour of LPF's administrator:

Maybe it was just "that time of the month" It seems if you do not conform with the general consensus apparent on the forum you are the enemy.

                              Yeah, whatever.

Note that I said nothing about rudeness and intransigence,
qualities of fact so historical as to be prosaic, but WTF.

Also, I don't guide anything, save to sweep out blatant spam after it has
had a chance to explain itself and usually after one or two people complain.
A forum with a lazy moderator is not a bad thing.

With that, welcome to our sand box.
