Probably why they tell you not to touch them, is the Nickel Finish comes off of the NEOs Easily.
Mine have lived a rough life.
One got broke in 3 pieces so I stack them 2 and 2 and they are much stronger stacked up.

I used a stack of little Harbor Freight neos today to try to tamp down the field on a bass pickup in place in the bass with a wooden cover. I used 8 tiny 1/4" x 1/8" discs and was astounded to see that it reversed the pole instantly on the one magnet I was working on. I corrected the polarity with a second tap and checked the field strength with my Elepro Gauss meter and it came right back up to full charge instantly. I had a very tricky time of it getting the magnet strength right where I needed it to be. A stack of even very small neos seems plenty to charge an alnico pole from one end only.

Thanks David, lets see how these disks I buy are magnetized, the hard disk magnets really dont know how they are, the compass went crazy... I buy two sets of the link above, they are cheap and always can give them to my son to erase everything at home....
