  • Magnets touching magnets?

I've been lurking these forums for a while now, but haven't really posted much. I was wondering, if two bar magnets are touching as pictured what effect that may have. I'm mainly worried about the magnets demagnetizing each other. Assuming the magnets will demagnetize each other, how far apart do you think they would need to be spaced to avoid this? Assume that these are normal humbucker sized magnets, and some kind of Alnico.

Why not just stick them together.
    NSNSNS, etc.
When I buy Magnets and they come charged they stick them together in a brick.
I always refresh the charge before I use them with NEOs, anyway!
Take a couple your not using and play with them. Try charging and discharging them.
Then charge them back up again. You can always charge them back up if they get discharged.
Rod Magnets I always discharge them before I work with them.
Then when I'm done I run them thru the neos.

As long as they are the same type of magnets they should not Degauss ..an A8 might degauss an A2 .

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant if the magnets were in a pickup. Imagine 2 coils right next to each other. If the magnets touch will there be any effects to the magnets themselves?

            Nalo,
in that orientation they are forming a "keeper" of sorts but they may not do much for your pickup, -depending one where your pole pieces are going.
