  • Humbucker Magnets from Addiction FX

I checked those Adict. FX magnets some time ago and I like them much more than the stuff I got from Sens.
Can anyone tell where to get those qualitymagnets in larger quntity and better pricing?

You might also consider the possibility that he's having to pay more for his magnets than you were used to paying for sensmags. You have to consider whether a better end-product justifies a lower profit margin for you. My guess is that a dollar or two difference won't break the bank.

Dennis´s prices are similar to sens if you buy a reasonable quantity. Dennis might even be getting them from sens for all we know. Magnet prices are the least of my problems. Shipping and duty/taxes are a killer on magnet wire obtained from the USA. and sent to Europe. I wonder if anyone knows of a supplier in Europe of 5lbs rolls of 42 formvar wire or PE ?

I think Shea at Magnetic Hold does Sensmag Magnets.
I have bought from Dennis and Shea, and they seem to be different products.
The A2s from each, sound some different.
I like them both, but they are different.
What I really like about Dennis is he will send you some free samples of different stuff.
Another big Difference, is on Rod Magnets.
All the length and diameter specs Dennis list's is correct.
The Lengths that Shea Gave, were all in-accurate.
          Not Measured like was listed.

Definitely go with Dennis. Like most anywhere, you will pay a bit more if you buy small quantities of things. For example, you might pay $4 for a single set of 6 alnico 5 rods, where you would pay SIGNIFICANTLY less for 100 of them. Just e-mail him and see what he can do for you. John,
I guess I'm not seeing the big saving or perhaps alnico has shot up in the year since I last ordered? I thought HB mags were costing $.40- $.60 ea from the usual sources.

We need to know where you buy magnets.
I've never got in on any deals like that.
I don't buy by the Thousand, so maybe it's the quantity thing.

Terry, I'm in the same boat. I just started winding humbuckers recently, so I don't have any sort of previous cost to compare Addiction-FX to.

John I am pretty sure that the price you gave, was the shipping included Addiction-FX Price.
Maybe someone on here will share those great places, and prices that they are getting.
I know Dennis does sell lots of Magnets.
I have enjoyed the discussion though.
                    Rock On!

I sent Dennis an email inquiry on Monday and still don't have a reply.
The "Usual" places are all listed in the FAC or the supplier's list at pickupedia.info
They would include Sensmag, Antiam, China Magnet and a half dozen others probably. Again the price of certain metals has been going sky high so my 3 year old quotes are probably way off.
Steven Kersting is still selling his bucker magnets at $2 ea if you buy $300. Mojotone has the same or better if you have an account.

I'm still getting nothing back from Dennis, does anyone have a different email or a phone number? Maybe my name is as muddy as my pickups?

If you're not getting a response you might try Shea At Magnetic Hold.
He has pretty good prices, and a $40 min. Order.
Here's the Magnet list he sent me a while back.
one tab for bar mags, and one tab for rod Magnets.
You will have to email him for current prices.
                          His email is.

                            To big_tee:

I haven't seen Alnico 8 or Un-Oriented A5 listed... is it because they don't sell'em or you didn't ask for them?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

Shea does carry Un-Oriented A5 ,& A8. I really like the sound of 5's I have never tried there A8 ,but i have never had an Un-A5 from Dennis to compare
