Its rather funny, no one makes an accurate vintage spec Tele baseplate. The real ones from the early 50's were smaller than all the modern ones, so much so that my friend who owns a real '51 Nocaster that I made a replacement pickup for would not fit in the guitar's rout, so I had to grind all the edges down so it could be used in the guitar. Then on top of that the screw holes in the original bridge plate didn't line up with the modern baseplate perfectly either. There are other differences too......http://www.SDpickups.com

I've done this with a simple plating set and it worked for me.
Bit off topic: I also do my gold plated screws/slugs this way (over the nickel plating) so that I can use whatever screws/slugs I use otherwise.
Apart from having these done for you, there are not much screws gold ready available on the market anyway and some I tried rather look "yelow" than gold so I prefer the finish I get this way.
The only thing is that this is time consuming, but I haven't got such a need for gold finish (so not enough need either to have it done outside) so this is OK for me up to now, but I think I will get some more serious plating kit someday.
Yves.
