Another good example of an acoustic pickup with a non existent, or hidden pole piece under a string. It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

this is quite a pickup. the plastic molding alone is a work of art (it is all one piece!). there are 4 rod magnets 1 inch long. the B and E strings each have a rod magnet 1/2 inch long. the 4 long one's measure 1200 G while the high E measures 600 G and the B comes in at about 50 G (my hall sensor is not calibrated). The B string magnet is exposed from the bottom but it's hard to see in the pic. I'm going to have to make a custom mounting plate to wind this bad boy.
I don't think that red electrical tape around the coil is stock!

So how does the B string gets sensed? The polepiece is simply shorter so it's sensed a bit weaker than the rest?Pickup prototype checklist: [x] FR4 [x] Cu AWG 42 [x] Neo magnets [x] Willpower [ ] Time - Winding suspended due to exams.
