  • Vintage-correct Mini Humbucker covers?

Anybody know where I can find some vintage-correct mini humbucker covers? Specifically, I need them to be 60's dimensions. I'm trying to replace the neck pickup on my '67 Epiphone Riviera, but the builders I talk to all use covers that are a few thousandths too big for the rout in my guitar. I even picked up a cheap 70's mini, and it didn't fit.

    I need something that's less than 1.125" front-to-back, and 2.63" side-to-side.

I tried Mojo and theirs are too big. I would imagine a lot of builders are using their covers too.

    thanks in advance!

I'm surprised that your 70s mini wasn't the same dimension. AFAIK Gibson has never changed the Deluxe style cover dimensions. Are you SURE it was original Gibson? Could your cover have been changed? Anyhoo.... for anyone interested, the current Epiphone mini hum dimensions are 1.092 ish by 2.67". My 60s Gibsons are 1.085 by 2.58" and I have a couple of 70s era covers that measure the same. I have a budget Firebird style probably from Korea, but not the same factory that does Eastwood and Epi pups. It measures 1.11 by 2.67".

Thanks Sweetfinger. The key place to measure is the BOTTOM of the cover. It seems, from the few I've seen, that the bottom of the cover tends to flair out a little more on the 60's versions. My 60's is 1.105 x 2.584, but the 70s is 1.115 x 2.606. The rout I need to fit in is 1.125 x 2.63.

From your measurements the 70s cover should fit your rout. Correct?
If you're measuring these at the bottom, the difference between your 60s and 70s is normal. ALL my vintage mini covers measured about the same as your 70s cover.

No...I mis-typed. My 70s is 1.155" front to back...so it's doesn't fit. If the bottom of your 70's are less than 1.125 let me know!
