#6 major diameter is nominally 0.138", which is a nice fit in a 0.125" ID piece of rubber. You need to press them on there, but they stay in place when you install them in a pickguard, which is nice.

6-32 is the historical standard for Strat pickups.

Your correct, but I still like my 5x40x3/4 Stainless!
They have a fairly large head, and they look sharp.
    Whatever Works.

A little off topic, but I have noticed over the years that StewMac can be a bit creative with their specs. Dimensions listed in fractional inches are often, in reality, the closest available metric equivalent. Examples: 1/4 inch is not 6mm, 15mm is not 5/8". Sometime it doesn't, other times it DOES!

I use stainless too, but I stuck with 6-32.

I haven't been able to find a bulk source for nickel plated 6-32 screws...

As far as sourcing 6-32 x 3/4" stainless, McMaster has them, too (they are a great source for all kinds of supplies), $0.05 each in qty: 100.

It ages with the guitar and becomes vintage which is what everybody seems to want to do in a rush these days anyway.

Got to hand it to that Korean Ebay trader.....only about 5 days to my door in the UK from pressing the buy button.

Without trying it in situ, I'm not too sure this stuff is gonna work that well.... I'd imagined the wall would be thicker (6mm OD, 4mm ID, 1mm wall) & that there'd be more 'retistance when squished ...I'll give it a bash over the next day or two - it'll solve a major headache it it works!

This whole pickup mounting melarkey is a bit of a mare....a typical strat pickup cover has mounting holes that are 3.6mm (I don't know what that is in base 64 measuting systems)...the nearest metric screw is M3.5 ....but they're not available *anywhere* in black finish. Even in M3.5 there's nobody sells nickel plated ...so for now, I'm rolling with stainless steel - even then there are no M3.5 scews available that have that 'guitar screw' look! (but there's no way on earth I'm gonna pay £2.00 for a couple of dedicated screws & cone springs just to mount a pickup to a scratchplate.

You can get black Strat pickup screws from WD Music.

Actually looking on their UK site...that's not too bad a price - thanks! ( WD Music SINGLE COIL PICKUP SCREW BLACK (BAG OF 8 ) - SPHB they've metricised the screw spec too! so a 6-32 screw is 3.2mm diameter ....I shall sleep well tonight at last!)

I see they sell the latex tubing too (& as per usual it's theft on a great scale.... http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/Sin...ack%29_SPRT-10 )

As suspected,...the wall is much thicker than I bought from korea, here's their spec.....

                10mm long.
                6.5mm outer diameter.
                2.5mm inner diameter)

                ....that's a 2mm wall (vs my 1mm wall)

Anyone want to make a catapult? (I've got just the stuff)

[skanks away, kicking the dog ....."tubing, schmubing....")

Edit: I'm gonna needs to get me a 6-32 tap here in the UK - here's one (I think)... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKF-6-32-U...item483283efb1 (but what is a fluteless tap ...I don't need a flute, I've already got a recorder)
